Located in Dahlgren, VA/Northern Neck, Pentagon Division is part of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps (USNSCC), the Navy’s premier youth leadership program for ages 10-17. We focus on developing motivated, confident young people through structured leadership development, teamwork, and hands-on maritime training that emphasizes responsibility and personal growth. Living by the Sea Cadets’ values - Honor, Respect, Commitment, and Service - our cadets gain practical skills and meaningful experiences that prepare them for success in school, future careers, and life.

On 11 September 2001, the Admiral Farragut Battalion of the U. S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps was set to be established, with signing of the final paperwork forming the unit scheduled for that day. However, the fateful events of September 11th, which changed the United States forever, also changed the future of this Sea Cadet unit. In honor of the terrible attack on the headquarters of the United States’ military, the division’s name was changed to Pentagon Division. The unit’s crest includes the outline of the Pentagon, representing this symbol of the nation’s military strength, and the attack on the building that day. The crossed tridents represent the oceans of the world, the United States Navy’s power from the sea, and the Navy’s support of the Global War on Terrorism. The crest includes the American Flag as a symbol of the unit’s dedication to patriotism and in remembrance of the historic events of “September 11th,” the crest includes the phrases “9-11” and “Never Forget.”
